Era III Resources
From MedievilWars
[edit] Description
Resources are required to build and improve buildings and to carry out research. You also need resources to train units. You can trade resources with other towns directly or via the market.
- Crystal - The rarest of resources in this land, Crystal can be traded for almost anything else. You can purchase Crystal by upgrading your account, and you can receive Crystal by voting for MedievilWars. Crystals can then be used to purchase bonuses.
- Ore - Your miners dig deep into the earth to bring you ore which can be turned into metal. Build and upgrade your Ore Mine to produce more ore. You will need to research Mining to improve your production of ore. Without ore you cannot make metal.
- Wood - The trees are plentiful and strong enough to support the buildings of an ever growing Kingdom. Wood is produced in the Lumber Mill and is required for building. Several researches are available to improve your Wood production.
- Food - Food is the staple resource of any society, used to fuel your builders and your armies. It is produced on a Farm and is used to pay for research and to build some buildings. Order more of your citizens to work in the Farm and research the related Economic technologies to increase Food production.
- Clay - Easy to mold into all sorts of useful and time-saving items for your peasantry. Build a Clay Pit to produce more Clay, which can then be used in some buildings.
- Metal - The smithies of your land work hard to turn ore into weaponry for your mighty armies. Note that production of 1 unit of Metal requires 2 units of Ore. You need to build a Blacksmith and order your citizens to work there to convert Ore to Metal. Metal is required in order to buy armor and weapons.
[edit] Coloring
From a Post by KK:
the colors represent the level as a percentage of the total storage capacity.
- green means growing with plenty of room for more
- light blue means you are starting to get to a point where you will max out storage soon if you continue at current production levels,
- navy (dark blue) means you are at capacity and your workers are wasting their time
Note: if the number is navy and underlined then you have completely reached your maximum storage.
[edit] Production Rates
Resources are produced at the following rates:
| Resource | Rate for:
1 Worker/Turn | Tech Bonus | Tech-Bonus-Rate | Paid Bonus | Paid-Bonus-Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0.20 | Means Taxation | =Rate*(1+.005*lvl) | GOLD UPGRADE | =Tech-Bonus-Rate*(1+(TRUE)*.1) | |
| 0.30 | Improved Crops | =Rate*(1+.005*lvl) | FOOD UPGRADE | =Tech-Bonus-Rate*(1+(TRUE)*.1) | |
| 0.25 | Efficient Saws | =Rate*(1+.005*lvl) | WOOD UPGRADE | =Tech-Bonus-Rate*(1+(TRUE)*.1) | |
| 0.20 | Coal Fired Kiln | =Rate*(1+.005*lvl) | CLAY UPGRADE | =Tech-Bonus-Rate*(1+(TRUE)*.1) | |
| 0.20 | Mining Shafts | =Rate*(1+.005*lvl) | ORE UPGRADE | =Tech-Bonus-Rate*(1+(TRUE)*.1) | |
| 0.10 | Iron Furnace | =Rate*(1+.005*lvl) | METAL UPGRADE | =Tech-Bonus-Rate*(1+(TRUE)*.1) |
A note for the people who wonder about the math: if both bonuses are in effect they are applied sequentially which is a benefit to your Kingdom.
e.g. if you have a 10% crystal bonus and a 10% tech bonus you will actually get 121% of the normal production rate or (rate + 10%) + 10% , not an additive rate ( rate + 20% )
